Dryer Vent Cleaning

I would like to express our appreciation and thanks for the stellar work performed recently during the palms spring maintenance program.

This was the best one so far and our residents have also expressed their overall satisfaction with the dryer vents, balconies, windows and grounds clean up. Thanks to Jason and Brett of Grime Fighters for keeping their crew sharp and focused, and at the same time paying attention to detail, of which the palms has many.

Hoping to work with all again in the future.

Dryer lint thinks it can hide - but Grime Fighters will find it!

Dryer vent cleaning (or dryer duct cleaning) is the removal of accumulated dryer lint from the ducting between the dryer and exterior vent.  Ducts are cleaned using high pressure air, which is used to blast lint out of the duct, without damaging the duct itself.  We insert a long flexible hose, or “snake” into the exterior vent from outside of the residents’ suite. The air hose has a special nozzle on the end which blows the air backward towards our superheroes, and the lint out of the exterior vent. This means we do not need to disturb residents by co-coordinating times for access to their homes.

Our superheroes use the reverse snake system, inserting the flexible hosing into the vent, and moving it forward through the duct to the point where the dryer is attached to the wall inside the suite.  The air hose has a special nozzle on the end which blows the air backward, out the vent and away from the dryer.

We can also perform the service from the inside, by entering the tenants’ suite, detaching the flexible hose from the back of the dryer where it connects to the wall and inserting the snake system at that point.  A different attachment is placed on the end of the flexible hose, which forces the air forward, pushing the lint once again out of the duct through the exterior vent.  Once this is done, the superhero will reattach the hose, then perform the cleaning from outside of the unit as described above.

The Benefits

The most important benefit of cleaning your dryer vent system regularly is for safety reasons. Heat from a dryer can cause lint clogged vents to ignite. Regular dryer vent cleaning eliminates a potential fire risk, and it also ensures that each dryer is performing at optimal levels.

Another benefit is lowered energy costs. Lint buildup in your dryer vent means your dryer will take longer to dry your clothes. And that means, you’ll have to run your dryer more, which leads to higher utility bills. By cleaning your dryer vent, your dryer will run more efficiently and save you money.

Popular Questions

  • What is the best time of year to do dryer vent cleaning?

We recommend people get dryer vent cleaning done during the Fall or Winter months because people tend to have less stuff on their patios and any residual lint dust is quickly washed away by the rain.

  • How often should dryer ducts be cleaned?

Ducts, flexi hoses and booster fans should be cleaned at least once per year, with common laundry room vents more frequently due to heavy use.

  • Do you work weekends?

For interior dryer vent cleaning services, we can schedule the work for the weekend to maximize the number of tenants available
